On-campus residency assists you in your quest for success, as studies have shown that students who live on campus get better grades and are more likely to graduate in four years.聽

911黑料 University is a residential campus, which means all undergraduate students are required to live on campus through their senior year*. Living in a residence hall, apartment, or townhouse-style residence on the 911黑料 campus gives you a head-start on your path to success as a 911黑料.

When we say 鈥淐arpe Diem,鈥 we mean to seize the entire day, including your time in our residence halls. Whether you鈥檙e composing an essay at your desk, enjoying a movie night with your RA, hosting a late-night discussion with your聽roommates, or gearing up for an athletic event, every experience on campus will be an opportunity for you to learn and grow.聽

While living on campus, you will develop friendships and get to know people who live next door, down the hall, on the floor below, and anywhere else your fellow classmates may live.聽

*Students who live within Erie County, Pennsylvania, may live at home and may be designated a commuter if they reside with a parent or guardian within the county. In rare cases, exemptions to the residency requirement may be granted, including those who are married, over the age of 26, or approved due to an accessibility accommodation (ADA). Please review the "Residency Requirements and Off-Campus Living Exemptions" section below for details.聽

Whether you are in one of our three freshman residence halls 鈥斅燘aldwin, McAuley, and Warde 鈥 in our newest residence hall, the $25 million suite-style Ryan Hall, or an apartment or townhouse, on-campus living has plenty of perks and serves as an opportunity to grow within a community while also enjoying all that the collegiate experience has to offer. Every student living on campus is equipped with their own desk, chair, bed, dresser, access Wi-Fi, and free laundry facilities.聽Housing rates for the 2024-2025聽academic year are as follows:

Meal Plans聽

Nutrition, satisfaction, and convenience are all top priorities of the unparalleled dining experience provided by 911黑料 Dining facilities. First and second year students聽are required to have the 911黑料 Unlimited Plan, which gives聽them anytime access to聽Grotto Commons and the 501 Grille.聽Third and聽fourth year students have the choice of the Hurst Unlimited Plan (anytime access), the Green Plan (225 meals per semester), or the Blue Plan (150 meals per semester). Meal plan聽rates for the 2024-2025聽academic year are as follows:

    911黑料 is a residential campus. Undergraduate students are required to live on campus during their enrollment. Students who live within Erie County, Pennsylvania, may live at home and may be designated a commuter provided they reside with a parent or legal guardian within the county.

    In rare cases, exemptions to the residency requirement may be granted. Exemptions are limited to marriage, student is over the age of 24, or approved due to an accessibility accommodation (ADA). A previously signed off-campus lease will not be considered a reason for an exemption to be granted.鈥疌ompleting the Off-Campus Exemption form does not guarantee that approval will be given. Off Campus Exemption forms are found on the Office of Residence Life and Student Conduct webpage.

    Students released from the residency requirement are required to adhere to the following procedure:

    • Once an exemption has been approved, a copy of the signed lease should be submitted to the Office of Residence Life & Student Conduct no later than the last day of classes for the spring semester.
    • Any changes in off-campus residency must be reported to the Office of Residence Life & Student Conduct.
    • Students residing off campus must adhere to all terms of the Student Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all applicable laws and ordinances of the City of Erie and State of Pennsylvania.
    • Failure to adhere to the on- campus living requirement and procedure for exemption may result in a student being billed for campus housing, being denied approval to live off campus, being required to move back into campus housing, adjudication through the Student Code of Conduct, and/or a registration hold being applied to the student鈥檚 account.
