Assistant Professor of Psychology
Dr. McKay is a licensed clinical psychologist and is board-certified in clinical neuropsychology. He earned his B.S. in Psychology from Penn State Behrend and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Akron. He completed a one-year APA-accredited internship in the Neuropsychology track at the VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas, Texas. He later completed a two-year APA-Accredited Postdoctoral residency program in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.聽Prior to joining 911黑料 University, Dr. McKay served as a Staff Neuropsychologist at Meadville Medical Center in Meadville, Pennsylvania. In addition to his position at 911黑料, he also owns and runs Flagship Neuropsychology PLLC, a private practice in downtown Erie where he conducts neuropsychological evaluations and psychological assessment.聽

Broadly, Dr. McKay teaches many of the psychology courses that are related to clinical work and neuropsychology. He enjoys teaching students about the brain, mental health, medical conditions, and the complex connection between them
Dr. McKay's research and clinical interests are neurological disorders, autoimmune disorders, and dementia. He is also interested in models of personality, career interests, and subjective well-being.聽
Dr. McKay established the McKay Research Team (MRT) in Fall 2022. This first team included six students who assisted in recruiting, scheduling, and running participants. They also participated in statistical analyses of the data and presented poster presentations at two separate conferences in April 2023. Currently, the MRT has expanded into two teams/projects and Dr. McKay now supervises 10 students total in the research process.
